Tool Features
How many letters can I unscramble at once?
You can enter up to 15 letters at a time, plus up to 2 blank tiles. This covers all practical word game scenarios including extended rack situations and crossword puzzle solving.
How do blank tiles work in the tool?
Select the number of blank tiles you have (0, 1, or 2) from the Blank Tiles dropdown. The tool automatically tests every letter of the alphabet for each blank tile and includes all valid words in the results. For example if you have 5 letters plus 1 blank, it finds words where the blank could be any letter.
What are the board position boxes for?
The position boxes let you specify letters that are already on the board that your new word must include at specific positions. For example if you need a word where the 3rd letter is E, enter E in the Pos 3 box. This filters results to only words that can actually be played at that board location. Leave position boxes empty if there are no board constraints.
How are results sorted?
Results are grouped by word length — 2-letter words first, then 3-letter, and so on up to your maximum word length setting. Within each length group, words are sorted by Scrabble point value from highest to lowest, so the best scoring options appear at the top of each group.
Can I filter results by starting or ending letters?
Yes — use the board position boxes to set a required first letter (Pos 1) or any other position. Set Pos 1 to filter words that begin with a specific letter, which is useful when you need to hook onto an existing board tile at the start of your word.
Word Games & Dictionaries

Scrabble GO and classic Scrabble
Words with Friends
Wordfeud
Wordle (set max word length to 5)
Wordscapes
Word Cookies
TextTwist
Jumble puzzles

What dictionary does the tool use?
Our database includes words valid for Scrabble (both the North American TWL dictionary and the international SOWPODS dictionary), Words with Friends, and Wordfeud. This comprehensive list ensures words found by our tool are valid in all major English word games.
Is it legal or fair to use a word unscrambler during a game?
That's a personal decision. Many players use tools like ours for learning — discovering words they didn't know existed and expanding their vocabulary over time. Others use it strictly for casual play where winning isn't the primary goal. In informal or friendly games most players have no objection. In competitive or ranked play, using assistance tools may be considered unsportsmanlike. Know your audience and play accordingly.
Why isn't a word I tried showing up in the results?
A few possible reasons: the word may not be in the standard Scrabble or word game dictionaries (many common words surprisingly aren't), the letters needed may not be available in your tile set, or the word may be a proper noun (which are not valid in most word games). Proper nouns, abbreviations, and hyphenated words are excluded from results.
Language Support
Do you support other languages?
Yes. We offer mobile letter unscramblers for multiple languages, each using the appropriate national word list:
Use the language that matches your Wordfeud game language setting. If you're playing Wordfeud in Norwegian or Danish, the Swedish dictionary is the closest available match for Scandinavian vocabulary. For English Wordfeud use the main English tool.
